Note: If you received your Contour Next One Meter directly from Vida Health, the device ships pre-connected, so these steps will not be needed.
This guide walks through the steps to connect the Ascensia Contour Next One blood glucose meter to the Vida app. Steps to disconnect or troubleshoot the connection are also included.
1. Connecting Your Device
Access Settings Open the Vida app and tap Settings. From there, select Connect Devices & Apps.
Select Bluetooth Low Energy Scroll to the section titled Connect with Bluetooth Low Energy and click the Connect button.
Choose Device Type Select Blood Sugar Meter from the list of available device categories.
Select Your Model Click on Ascensia Diabetes Care Contour Next One.
Pair Your Meter Follow the on-screen instructions. Ensure your meter is nearby and powered on.
Confirm Connection Once successful, a green checkmark will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap the top-left arrow to return; your device will now show as "Connected."
2. Disconnecting Your Device
If you need to remove your device, follow these steps:
Navigate to Settings > Connect Devices & Apps.
Click the Connect button under the Bluetooth Low Energy section.
Locate the Ascensia Contour Next device under "Connected Devices" and tap it.
Tap Unpair at the bottom of the screen.
Confirm by clicking Yes on the pop-up notification.
3. Troubleshooting & Syncing Issues
How to ensure your readings sync:
Following a blood draw, keep your meter powered on and the Vida app open. This allows the data to transfer immediately to the Progress section for you and your provider to see.
If your data doesn't appear:
If the reading does not show up within 1–2 minutes, follow these steps:
Refresh the App: Close the Vida app completely and re-open it.
Restart the Meter: Turn your meter off and back on by clicking the center button.
Check the Log: In the Vida app, navigate to your metric log by clicking the Book and Pencil icon.
Look for the Banner: When the transfer is successful, you will see a temporary "Bluetooth reading successful" banner at the bottom of the screen.
Note: You can always validate your data by navigating to Journey > Progress. If the data still hasn't appeared, wait one more minute and refresh the page.
