I’m having a technical problem with my Dexcom G7 CGM. Can you help?
You can find resources and contact Dexcom CGM support by visiting this website or through the Dexcom G7 app.
What do I do if my sugar readings are too high or low and I’m feeling unwell?
If you’re not in immediate danger, but your health and safety is at risk, seek medical attention right away. If you need immediate assistance, please call 911 or your local emergency services.
Operating heavy equipment, such as driving a vehicle, can be dangerous while having low blood sugar. Please make sure your blood sugar is in range before operating heavy equipment.
What do I do if the sensor falls off before the 10 day cycle?
If your sensor falls off before 8 days of use, please reach out to dexcom support for a replacement. If it falls off after 8 days of use, enough information has been collected for health insights, therefore a replacement is not needed.
Can I shower or swim with my CGM sensor on?
Yes, you can get the sensor wet while bathing, showering, or swimming. The sensor is waterproof up to 8 feet.
What are the high and low blood glucose alerts and can I customize them?
High and low blood glucose alerts are notifications you get in the Dexcom app if your readings are outside of your preferred range. They are in the form of a display, a sound, and/or vibrate on your mobile device when your glucose is out of your preferred range. To find out how to customize your alerts, please visit this support article.
How do I share my CGM data with my healthcare professional or family member?
Sharing data with family members, friends or another trusted caregiver
In order to share data with your family members, friends or a caregiver, they need to download the Dexcom Follow app (Follow). They don't need to have the G7 app on their smart devices.
To invite someone to follow you, go to Connections > Share in the Dexcom G7 app. Then follow the instructions on the app screens. You can invite Followers from your contacts or enter their name and email.
Sharing data with your healthcare professional
Follow the steps outlined in the Dexcom Clarity App section of this support article.
For step-by-step instructions on sharing your data with your care team, visit this Dexcom support article.
What do the trend arrows on the mean?
The Glucose tab on your G7 app shows your current sensor reading and trend information. The trend arrows tell you where your glucose is heading based on the last few readings. They help you predict where your glucose will be within the next 30 minutes. Use them to be proactive in managing your diabetes.
What should I do if my CGM readings are different from my blood glucose meter?
If your symptoms do not align with what the CGM is showing, it is recommended to confirm with a fingerstick. The fingerstick is going to be most accurate for you to make treatment decisions based on.
