Logging Your Meals: 3 Easy Ways
To get started, tap the + Log Food button on your Home screen.
After you tap “Log Food,” choose from the best option for you.
-
Scan or take a photo: Use your phone's camera to seamlessly scan the barcode on any packaged food or take a picture of your meal and describe it! This gives your care team a great visual overview of your eating habits without the hassle of measuring.
-
Speak it: Tap “Speak it” then describe your meal out loud and tap “Done” when you’ve finished speaking. A screen will pop up to clarify what was heard and give you the option to edit, accept it, or start over.
-
Search: Search our extensive database for specific foods and ingredients to add them directly to your daily log.
Instant Nutritional Insights
Once your food is logged, you don't just see a list—you get actionable data to help you make informed choices:
- Calorie Counts: Immediately see the caloric breakdown of your meals to help you stay on track with your daily targets.
-
Macro Breakdown: Easily view your tracked macros—such as carbohydrates, protein, fat, fiber, sugar, and sodium—for each meal.
Note: Your dashboard is customized to your specific program, meaning you will only see tiles for the specific macros you have active goals for! Fiber and sugar are now included right on the nutrition screen!
Tip on Syncing: When you log food using the search or barcode scanner, your totals will update automatically within a few seconds. Because photo and voice logging are more advanced, they take just a little longer to process. Those totals will catch up and appear the next time you open or refresh the screen!
How to Add Goals
To set custom targets for your daily calories and macros (carbohydrates, protein, and fat):
Tap + Log Food on your Home screen to open the nutrition view.
Tap Set Goals.
Adjust your targets by tapping directly in the box or using the + / - icons to increase or decrease the values.
To remove a macro goal, simply tap the trash icon next to the row. When you remove a macro, its tile will be hidden from your main view to keep your dashboard focused.
Note: Calorie goals cannot be removed, as they act as the foundation of your plan. If you remove all other macro goals, a banner will prompt you to finish setting up your nutrition goals.Tap Save when you are finished.
Tracking Your Water
Staying hydrated is a key part of your health journey! You can easily track your daily water intake right from your tracker. Plus, if you're extra thirsty, you can now log water beyond your daily goal. Any extra glasses will simply display underneath as "+1 glass over goal" (or however many you drank) so you always get credit for your hydration.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why can’t I use fractions (i.e. ⅔ cup, half oz, etc)?
A: The food logger currently uses preset size options. As we continue to update the feature, additional options will be added for flexibility.
Q: Where can I view the nutritional insights and total calorie portions for my logged food?
A: You can view your daily calorie counts, portions, and macro breakdowns by navigating to the nutrition screen, which is immediately accessible after you tap the + Log Food button on your Home screen.
Q: How can I set a specific daily calorie intake goal?
A: You can set and adjust your calorie goals directly within the Food Logger! Navigate to the nutrition page, select Set Goals, tap the calorie field (or use the +/- buttons to adjust), and tap Save.
Q: Can I log multiple items together as one meal, mark foods as a “favorite,” or relog a previous meal?
A: Currently, the food logger identifies and tracks items individually to provide the most accurate nutritional breakdown (for example, a combination like "lemon water" will be broken down into separate entries for water and lemon). However, we are actively working to make logging even more effortless! The ability to view previously logged foods, save "Favorite" items, and create "Custom Meals" will be available in an upcoming update.
Q: I only see some of my macros on my screen. Is something missing?
A: No, this is intentional! Your dashboard is tailored to your specific plan, so you will only see tiles for the macros you have active goals for. For example, if your plan focuses only on fat and sodium, you will only see those two tiles so your screen doesn't get cluttered.
Q: Why can't I delete my calorie goal?
A: Calories serve as the baseline that the rest of your nutrition plan is built around, so this specific goal cannot be removed. However, you can delete any of the other individual macro goals using the trash icon.
Q: Can I track my saturated fat?
A: Saturated fat is deliberately hidden from the member view to keep your main dashboard streamlined and easy to read. However, it is automatically calculated when you log your food, and your care team can still see it on their end to better guide your care!
