The Medical Weight Loss program is Vida’s science-backed treatment for obesity. Vida has created an integrated, digital program that combines behavior change and medicine to address obesity effectively.
What can you expect in this program?
- Full access to our behavior change app and care team
- Clinical supervision by physicians and medical nutrition therapy with registered dietitians
- Weight-related lab tests, a tailored treatment plan, and regular check-ins
- If deemed clinically appropriate, prescription for weight loss medicine (upon clinical assessment) at the start of the program or later on, depending on prior weight loss success and results during the program
The primary goal in the program is to lose a significant amount of weight safely and maintain that loss. This program also targets improvement in weight-related conditions, such as high blood pressure.
Who’s eligible for the program?
The program is available to qualifying members classified as obese based on BMI, or overweight based on BMI + a weight-related condition such as hypertension, high cholesterol or prediabetes. This will be determined during your enrollment or your session with your coach. Your coach will also ask about other conditions and medical history to ensure the program is appropriate for you. Additionally, your organization may have specific eligibility criteria for this program.
This program is not available for those under 18 or currently pregnant. Your care team will also ask about other conditions and medical history to ensure the program is appropriate for you.
Type of provider(s) you will work with
Health Coach - Primary Program Coach
Your health coach will be with you every step of the way in the program. You will work with your coach on establishing goals, provide support and track progress.
Registered Dietitians (RD) - For medical nutrition therapy
Upon program enrollment, you will work with an RD to discuss and establish nutrition care. The RD will provide a nutrition diagnosis and education and they will monitor and evaluate your progress.
Physicians/Nurse Practitioners (NP) - For Labs and weight loss medication prescribing
You will be referred to a Physician/Nurse Practitioner to determine if weight loss medication is appropriate for you. The evaluation will include information from your RD’s evaluation plus labs assessments.
